Work History, Projects, and Education

 

• 2016 to present Teaching wheel throwing at the Henderson Multigenerational Center in Henderson NV

• 2018-2020 President of the Nevada Clay Guild

• 2016 Vice president of the Nevada Clay Guild

• 2015: Started Bill's Kiln Repair & Service. Full service of all makes and models of Electric & Gas kilns

• 2014: Built Fast Fire wood kiln at Pottery West, Las Vegas NV

• 2013 to present:  Teaching at Pottery West,  Las Vegas NV.  Rebuilt a 20 cubic foot gas kiln. Repaired the Geil kiln burner system. Repaired many of the electric kilns including  Cone Art kiln,  Olympic kiln, Skutt kilns, and Cress kiln

• 2010 to present: Studio potter at personal residence

• 2010: Built a ceramics studio in my home including a 12 cubic foot gas Olsen Kiln   

• 2010: Retired after 29 years as a Plumber, General Foreman, and construction manager.

• 1980-2010   Construction at Henri Specialties of Las Vegas. Journeyman Plumber and ended up as a General Foreman

• 1983: Built Olsen kiln in Santa Barbara

• 1984: Built Fast Fire wood kiln at Sierra Nevada College. Began as a student and ended up as the main Technician for the ceramics department.

• 1971-1973: Student at College of the Redwoods. Studied engineering and got involved in the ceramics program. As a class project we designed and built a catenary arch gas kiln
